March 19 message from Superintendent Kreger

District 196 families,

Next week, the calendar says it’s spring break, but next week will be nothing like a normal spring break for any of us. The coronavirus has quickly created new realities for all of us.

By executive order of Governor Walz, this week our district began providing child care for the children of health care and emergency workers at two elementary school sites, and daily grab-and-go meals for children at our seven summer meal sites.

In addition, our teachers and administrators have been busy this week preparing to start distance learning on March 30. You will be personally contacted by someone at your child’s school by the end of that first week. Please be patient and work with your child’s teachers as we roll out distance learning together.

Most importantly, take care of yourself and your family members. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call your child’s school to leave a message and a staff member will contact you.
