The goal of the Food and Nutrition Services Department is to provide high quality, nutritious meals for all students. Each day, the department prepares and serves more than 20,000 lunches for students and staff at all district schools. Breakfast is also served at 28 schools. Current school lunch menus will be posted during the school year at each school and on this website.

Students may qualify for free meals or reduced-price meals based on federally established family income guidelines. Reduced price for lunch is $.40. “Reduced price” breakfasts are served at no charge.

For information about your student’s meal account balance please use Campus Portal. When adding to your student’s meal account, please make all checks payable to ISD196 Food Service, and include your student's PIN or ID.

Students can purchase meals by entering their Universal PIN (Personal Identification Number) that is assigned to them by Food & Nutrition Services. When the code is entered, the electronic system automatically deducts the appropriate amount from the student's meal account. Your student will use the same PIN from grades K to 12 within District 196.

Complete the survey linked below if you would like to have meals sent home with your child on Tuesday afternoon and Friday afternoon. These meals are provided at no charge through special funding from the United States Department of Agriculture. The take-home meal on Tuesday is a breakfast to support your student(s) during the late start on Wednesday. The take home meals on Friday will support your student(s) over the weekend. Meals will be distributed as students are released at the end of the day. Completing this survey will assist the Nutrition Services Department in preparing adequate number of meals.

Complete this survey if you are planning on taking advantage of these school meals at no charge. One survey  per student.
